I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Substance Abuse Counselor and earned my undergraduate degree at UW-Madison and my master’s degree in Social Work at Rutgers University. I have experience as a therapist working with children, adults and couples.

As a therapist in private practice, I assist clients with identifying their challenges and strengths, so they can face their future in a stronger frame of mind. I choose therapeutic approaches that best fit each client’s needs, often utilizing an integrative approach that blends various therapeutic modalities.

I strive to help my clients regain a positive outlook, as well as rebuilding their strength and resiliency to face life’s challenges and stressors. I offer a safe environment for individuals to work through past hurts, find freedom from ongoing struggles, grow in their true self, and thrive in their lives and relationships. I will help you to develop strategies to manage life's challenges and capture your strengths and help you be empowered through personal growth and change. I am Trauma Certified and trained in several modalities but believe that you are the expert in you.

Therapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in supporting women and birthing people through the emotional and psychological transitions of reproductive life. I work with clients across the full spectrum of experiences—from preparing for pregnancy and navigating fertility challenges, to pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and the often-overlooked stages of perimenopause and menopause.
My goal is to provide a warm, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore the complexities of identity, body changes, relationships, and mental health during these pivotal life phases. I understand that each journey is unique and may include joy, grief, uncertainty, and transformation.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through this work, I help clients build resilience, develop effective coping strategies, and feel more connected to themselves.
I am passionate about normalizing these experiences and empowering my clients with the support and tools they need to navigate their lives with confidence.

“Hello! I’m Luccas Contreras , MSW, APSW

Therapist | Trauma-Informed | Faith-Inclusive | Neurodivergence-Affirming | Humor-Driven Healing
Therapy doesn’t have to be all heavy all the time. I often bring humor into my sessions when appropriate, because laughter can be medicine too. I like to say I’m a bit of the Patch Adams of therapy. As he once said: “You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you’ll win, no matter what the outcome.” That’s how I approach this work, with heart, humanity, and humility.
My style is integrative and adaptable, drawing from CBT, TF-CBT, ACT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and exposure-based therapies (Prolonged and In Vivo). I meet you where you are and build from there.
With a background in Art Therapy, I’m also passionate about expressive modalities—art, music, movement, and play are all welcome in our work together, especially for kids, teens, and anyone who finds it easier to connect through creativity than conversation.
I’ve worked in some of the country’s leading programs for OCD and anxiety, including Rogers Behavioral Health and McLean Hospital, and have extensive experience with eating disorders.
Through my work with CCS and CLTS, I’ve supported individuals and families with complex needs, focusing on community-based, wraparound care that empowers youth and caregivers alike.
As a former volunteer firefighter and the child of a career firefighter, I carry deep respect and empathy for first responders and veterans, which was further deepened through my work at the VA.
I’m also a person of faith and am happy to incorporate spirituality into therapy, whether you're exploring your beliefs or seeking a space where your faith is honored.
Above all, I’m here to support the whole you with evidence-based tools, creativity, laughter, and compassion. I look forward to our next session.
Luccas”

Therapy is client-centered and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on what works.
